Acid Solder Club Utrecht is a DIY electronics and synth-building workspace and experimental sound studio, founded in 2019 by DIY electronics and synth inventor Veerle.
Focussing on electronics education for beginner or seasoned, musicians, makers, engineers and hobbyists from around the area and beyond, the workspace is open during events and workshops for who wants to learn, solder, and experiment with electronics and machines.

Workshops and events range from basic electronics 101, to building DIY synth modules. From making your own fuzz pedals to DIY MIDI controllers. Scavenging and reusing obsolete apparatus and devices others would see as waste, and learning the basics of repair of vintage audio gear and synthesisers. Acid Solder Club organises “bring your own electronics” format soldering sessions, hackathons and skill shares of all kinds from the workshop in Utrecht or at locations throughout the country and abroad.
The focus is on learning by doing with no hour long lectures, no closed off environments, but embracing electronic curiosity by doing and making mistakes, and the joy of seeing a circuit come alive and learning the skills to solder.
Besides this, Veerle of Acid Solder Club renovates old devices and machines back to life again, so they can be played during open days and studio events by visitors or used for recording sessions.

REGARDING REPAIRS
We do not offer repair services very often, except on rare occasions and generally if it’s about old machines or heritage or oldschool-kind of types of synthesisers and apparatus. This is often for longer duration projects such as repairing a collection of vintage synths and gear, or for friends and community members. We don’t take in modern SMD component gear or machines and/or household appliances, since there is not enough storage space or the right materials to repair these.
Acid Solder Club is not a repair café, but we do offer repair classes and courses though, so you can learn the basics of repairs yourself, what things you can repair and also when to stop and leave it to a professional. Find more about this on the REPAIRS page.
WORKSHOP AND EDUCATION INQUIRIES
Collaborations or job inquiries can also be send via this email adres, please state what type of collaboration, when (month-year) and if it is about a specific theme (Basics of soldering, 3D printing, Interface or Instrument design etc.) or about a DIY kit workshop, class, seminar, festival workshop, hackathon or other collaboration format.
