Studio Bookings

Acid Solder Club Studio is a hands-on recording space for experimental musicians and artists.
This is not a high-end studio for clean takes and polished machines. It’s a place to explore strange instruments, lo-fi electronics and unexpected sounds, guided by curiosity and sound as a physical process.

The studio can be booked by people who want to explore electronic instruments for the first time, as well as by experienced musicians and composers looking for new inspiration, specific machines, or unfamiliar sonic territory.

€55,- per hour with personal assistance from Veerle during the recording session when needed. Choice of all listed synths drummachines below that can be setup beforehand. You can use recording devices available in the studio (ZOOM H4n Pro, PreSonos Studio 24C), or bring your own interface or recorder of choice with you.

2-4 hours, full day possible on request

3 people max.

  • Artists, musicians, filmmakers and sound designers
  • Personal projects, albums, research and documentation
  • Access to the full Acid Solder Club instrument collection (subject to availability)
  • A curated, focused environment (no walk-ins, no rush)
  • Bookings on weekdays and weekends possible, no set dates and times

€35,- per hour, set days and time slots, ideal if you want to dive into synths and drummachines, but first want to take a dip. To record a bunch of samples that you can use later in your live rig, or to play modular synths and machines for a few hours, because you don’t want to invest in them but love to play on them occasionally.

1-2 hours

2 people max.

  • Students, emerging artists, DIY makers and curious sonic explorers
  • Access to a selection of instruments and systems (subject to availability)
  • Same care and atmosphere as standard pricing, but with a simpler setup
  • Basic guidance and technical support

You bring a recorder and a set of headphones (or use the ones available at the studio)to record a bunch of synths, organs, drummachines and noise machines that are on in the studio at that moment plugged in such as the community modular, STEIM system, drummachines, noiseboxes and varying circuit bend machines and Musikmachine mechanical solenoid sequencer.

IMPORTANT NOTE

The Acid Solder Club studio can be used as a recording and research space for students from conservatories, art schools, music education and sound-related programs.

Sessions are suitable for:

  • Group visits or small classes
  • Project-based recordings and field recording classes
  • Introduction to experimental instruments and non-standard sound systems

Studio sessions can be combined with a short course or guided session, for example on:

  • Basics of synthesis and patching techniques
  • Experimental sound design
  • DIY and lo-fi electronics
  • Synth and electronic music history
  • Working with unconventional or unstable instruments
  • The focus is not on polished results, but on hands-on learning, listening, experimentation and critical thinking about sound.

The studio has hosted students from HKU Music and Technology, ArtEZ Conservatorium, Herman Brood Academy, KABK Artscience and Sonology, for recordings, research and advice on sound, electronics and musical setups.

Education sessions are offered at the standard studio rate with custom formats and durations available in consultation depending on group size and duration of class.
